One good thing about scene modes is that using what the data the camera gives you, can take the same exact readings and then adjust in the more manual modes like Av, Tv and M for creative effect or correction work.
if you know how to use a PnS..chances are you will get nicer pics compared to someone who have no idea how to use a dslr.
