Hi Everyone,
I am a newbie and had just started this hobby. I would like to know is there any beginner classes conducted in Singapore? I just return after 16 years away from Singapore. Thanks in advance.

Hi, welcome back. There may be such "classes" up in the top pages here but I don't think it is necessary as most of us teach ourselves. There are tutorials (youtube) and info online more than you care to read. Please don't spend your skills future $500 credit on these classes, save it for something relevant to your life.;) If you need clarifications this is the place to come to.Get to know your equipment...it does not matter what brand or price tag it will do it's job that is if you know what you are doing and with it.Once again welcome back home.:)

When I started, I was given this book to start. Have fun!
Think now may have new edition.

Thank you very much for the kind advice. I heard about this skills future $500 credit. Interesting. What is it about? You mean the Government is sponsoring individuals for upgrading? Lost track of Singapore's happening.

Great advice I think.

Exposure is a really good place to start.

I started out learning the "science" part before learning the "art" part....
the "art" is the difficult part which I am still learning.

Have fun!! :D

There are lots of books on photography you can get from the national library. They have a very wide selection. Use their website to search. I think the problem you will face is there are just too many to select from. Pick up one on exposure, lighting, composition or basic photography technique to start with and work out from there.

No doubt about it, every click cost money, we made sure all settings are deliberate and calculated properly and EVERY shutter counts!:dunno:

I tried this handicap before.
one SD card is only allowed 36 shots and image review is OFF.

You can join wonglp's Sunday photowalk - under the M43 section. And get to know other clubsnap members.

Hi, you may consider attending courses at The Photographic Society of Singapore. The instructors are friendly and they have practical sessions. I attended one many many years ago. Just concentrate and feel free to ask questions during the lessons. cheers. here is the URL http://pss1950.org/

Don't waste your hard earn money attending such courses, there are plenty of instructors/teachers here in clubsnap.

just discovery learning...take more photos...learn from mistake...youtube...experiment...go out and explore...that's the best way to learn and be creative and use your imagination...this is how i learned. Hence, I'm advising you to do the same.
