Hi People,
There is a new brand of scanner available in S'pore. The scanner brand is Primefilm. This brand is from Pacific Image Electronics. Website www.scanace.com

Currently there are 2 models available. PF1800AFL and PF3600Pro.Both models have Auto Film Loading and does batch scanning. No film adapters are require for scanning.
The whole package comes with bundle software.
Photoshop Elements and Cyberview (scanner driver).

PF1800AFL Specs:
- Optical resolution 1800dpi, 42 bits per pixel,Single pass,Linear array color CCD,USB,scan time 23secs at 1800dpi,scans roll films, film strips and slides. File size 12.76MB at 1800dpi .

PF3600PRO Specs:
- Optical resolution 3600dpi, 36 bits per pixel,Single pass,Linear array color CCD,USB,IEEE1394,scan time 50secs at 3600dpi,scans roll films, film strips and slides. File size 102MB at 3600dpi

interesting, very interesting... wonder what the price range is like. pity it doesn't use Digital ICE or similar software, esp in the higher end 3600 Pro.

If clicked on the Buy Now option it showes that it is $ 549.99. But no saying what currency it is. Could be US. The 1800 is @ $299.99.

Wonder if the dimage III is a better choice?

let me know if the scanners are different models....

$545 will mean that the PF1800AFL is competing against the likes of Minolta Dimage Dual Scan III, a formidable competitor with higher resolution....

Not too sure what scanners would be the competition for the 3600Pro though. Perhaps, Acer Scanwit 2040S with digital ICE?
