Im still very puzzled.. how is this 55-210 so cheap..and the 50mm is so costly.. (as according to the SR5). But since its not being sold yet.. i believe the price can just serve as a guideline for now.
Hopefully its really a good one.

Yea.. im aware about it..but according to 1 of the SR5..the 55-210mm is like USD 299. thats really cheap ill say.
and tho 50mm alittle overpriced i feel.. however like mention before..i dont think the prices are finalize yet. So..shall wait and see..and of cos the performance is 1 of the key factor too..

Cos the 50/1.8 emount comes with OSS too.

Rather, i will find it weird if they don't develop the 50mm f1.8 prime with OSS. The 50mm f1.8 alone is very useful in low-light condition due to its large aperture. Add image stabilization to it is like adding wings to the lens.

If they did, we would never have AF on SLRs, digitally intergrated lens or (closer to the present) SLTs ! ...it's one of the reasons why I'm sticking to their system :bsmilie:

Yup ! ...but I'm gripping my wallet really tightly this time ! ...10fps is fast enough for me but maybe the 24mp sensor and new EVF might cause my heartbeat to rise, causing my handgrip to weaken ! :bsmilie:

To be honest, after seeing the JPEG engine improvement on the recent Nex C3 and A35, as well as my current A580 seems to perform really well (JPEG and ISO quite on par with the popular D7000) over A55, I am convinced that Sony engineers are making improvements on these front. Not only we need good performing sensors, we need to have the processing power in line with these upgrades.

Previously, when I hit ISO800 and above with A55, the noise is getting really bad, JPEG files are soft and colors are washed out, due mainly to the way it was processed and not the fault of the good sensor.

I certainly now have faith in the upcoming A77, Nex7, Nex5N and A65 that is announcing tomorrow. Bloody...hell....so many out at the same time, how to buy all of them???

The other thing that is certainly having a place in my dry cabinet is the LONG WAITED 16-50 F2.8 SSM!!!

Agreed on the noise with anything above ISO800, I usually shoot RAW with the A55 and it does help quite a bit.

I'm really curious about the new 24MP Sony sensor and how it stacks up against the FF, If it can resolve up to that of the A900 ...I'm getting one !!! ;p
