well, i agree, you have picked quite an advanced DSLR for your first one ;p
but not to worry, i suggest you read up about basic photography on the net (there are plenty). then start reading your camera's manual (take your time!), and maybe your lens' manual also. from then on, start practicing and keep shooting

Ya.. now i spend time to read and understand more about the function... I do read the camera manual too very informative... as for the lens manual.. i didn't realize there's one in there... i thought just a piece of paper with different languages and construct, warranty etc. Will do it when free and hope to pick up some interesting facts.
