The Japanese are usually a week faster than us... if nothing goes wrong, I should get it by this Friday/Saturday. :)

& check out this photo ... amazing colour & detail on the M8. :)

Ladies & Gentleman... 2 more days to end the miserable long wait. 35mm/f1.4 will be available on 21 Feb, this Thursday after 12noon. :)

it seemed to share the "random" vignett characteristic of the 40 nokton.... pic 20080219 does seems like it but it could be lighting/shadow issue....

i might pick one up after i get tired of the hexanon... :-P

Ladies & Gentleman...

The wait is over...

Presenting to you, the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm/f1.4....

Thanks, Chiif. The best camera specialist service in town

Will now go to try it out ...

I don't claim to be an expert but I'll gladly test it for u... heh heh heh :devil::devil:

nice pics.

am still not too sold on the 35mm f1.4
the signature seems too similar to the 40mm
and at an added cost some more...

any opinions anyone?

i like the feel of ur 3rd pic, reminds me when i was staying around that area.

i have tried both the 35mm and the 40mm belonging to a friend who got it from hk.
apart from the 5mm diff, there is really not much difference to the output and build.
but the price diff is almost 200usd... am just wondering why ...

Yes, to most people, 5mm is pretty insignificant.

Angle of view for 40mm is 56 degress while the 35mm lens is 63 degrees. To some people who can live with the difference of 7 degrees, then by all means stay with the 40mm.

The reason why the 35mm cost much more is because it's difficult to make a lens that fast at that focal length. Comparing to the 35 lux, I would say, the Nokton 35mm/f.14 is only less than 1/6 of the price.

Well, I can't say my CV lenses can hold a candle with the lux, but the fun factor using this lens definitely make every cent spent worth it. It expands the possibilities of available darkness photography which once only available to those who can afford the lux and the f1.2.

Personally, this lens is permanently on my R2A as the 35mm framelines fit like a gloves. :)
