Gd cam with many gd improvements from 20D but sadly, it's still 8.2MP.

the price of 30D is very close to 20D, around 10.6% more.

If Singapore 20D is $2799 now then 30D will be $3099. I think the gaps bt the full frame 5D and 1.6x is smaller now ... pushing more ppl to consider 5D. 5D is around SGD$4200 and expected to come down further to $3999. 30D is a dissappointing enhancement that price below D200.

Though same picture qualities and sensor but bigger LCD is what many ppl like.

I have doubt my Pentium 3 computer can handle such a huge file. Will than have to buy a more powerful computer.:bsmilie:

The 30D is almost exactly the same, it does have a pop-up flash and it is still 8.3MP.

Only additions to the camera, are from what I read, spot metering and the larger LCD.

Kinda sucks, they should have named it the 20D Mk II or at least upped the megapixel count to 10MP or make it 1:1. That would have been a better improvement over the current 20D. I don't think I will be buying the 30D, if anything I would probably buy the 5D.

That's just my 2 cents.

Price from DPreview is either USD1399 or EURO1399. Not sure which is correct. But if we based on the Japanses site of 158000Yen, it should be around S$2.2k.

After checking price all over the places, prices in Singapore are really too high. Force us to buy it in some other countries. ;(

This new feature may be important to some users who need it.

9,999 images per folder (instead of 100 as per the EOS 20D)

Called Canon this morning to check when the 30D will be available. At first the girl said early March. I asked further for a more precise date. She then check edwith someone... maybe the manager and was told mid March 06. Anyway according to her the dates are estimated only
