I love Image Stablizer of the new EF 100mm L lens :heart: Needless to day, the lens look and material feel is more prestige than the non L version.

1/25sec Non IS (all at iso6400, so ignore the color grains.)

1/25sec with IS

1/15sec with IS. Success 50/50. Without IS -none clear.

I absolutely agree with you. Handholding my 70-200 f4L IS at 1/15 of a second is really amazing.

Yup. Canon IS is really powerful. Handholding the 70-200 F4L IS at 1/15 sec with iso till 1600 will allow u to capture still objects in super low light! Pair it with 5DII, use the iso 6400 and it'll be super!

Just wondering if anyone else is currently using the Tamron 90mm macro and is considering to move towards this 100mm L lens? So far, personally I'm quite happy with the Tamron one but wondering if its worth the money to upgrade to this new canon lens.

Any advantages to upgrade to this new lens? (not counting the 'red' ring or obvious IS function).

I got from Parisilk at Holland V. Was told that a person who originally reserved can only pick it up next week, and the shop owner said I could have it yesterday.

Price is $1285 b4 GST.
