I'm guessing your pics turn out blur cos there's still a certain amount of shake when you press the shutter button even though your camera is on a tripod, and this is especially true since you're at max zoom causing the shake to be magnified. My advice to you is to either use a remote or set it on a timer.Originally posted by jimtong
Hi, users of C-7xx, need to seek your expert advice. When your camera goes into full optical zoom on tripod, does the picture appear to be blur and unsharp whether in day or nite shoot?
How to rectify this problem?

I am using timer btw. I guess, no matter what there is still a little shake. It seems to be from my tripodbut for short exposure is fine.

Wah...I am using the C720UZ... damn it.. if I know that the 730 is releasing... I wouldn't have bought the 720. I was wondering if there is any trade-in for the new 730. I quite like the duo media slot that is built on top of the quality of the DC.![]()

You're not alone, Vander. I got my C-720UZ barely 1 month ago and the news for C-730UZ was released like 1 week after I got it. Nonetheless, I think the C-720UZ is still a good camera, does most of what I needed and wanted it to do except for noise reduction and hotshoe (and C-730UZ hasn't got it either). It'd be great if Olympus could release a firmware upgrade for the C-720UZ (not likely), afterall, they played us out by releasing the C-730UZ barely a few months after C-720UZ was introduced and at about the same price some more.

It's something which allows you to mount an external flash, and how the flash fires can be controlled by the camera. Err...that's actually quite a crude definition of what a hotshoe is...maybe someone else has a dictionary definition of what a hotshoe really is...Originally posted by dinomax
whats hotshoe??

ok, FYI.. 1/400s, F/3.4, ISO200 ..Originally posted by jimtong
That is a sharp picture. But I guess your shutter speed must be quit fast. I seldom hit problem in day... only sometime and I guess i need to set the shutter speed faster, problem comes when doing a long exposure.

In any case, I believe any camera would have a problem with handheld and long exposure or high focal length. So, in the case of DCs, you either need to compromise some image quality for higher ISO, or use a tripodEven with C2100UZ and long exposure+high zoom, you'd get some problems.

What can we do then... but I am still comfortable with the 720. The day shoot is fine but not the nite shoot. I think have to pratice more man...![]()
