From ur responses, I gather many agree that 55-200 sam would be a good buy, bang for e buck. A bit tempted to get the 75-300 coz it's at e same price but as mentioned, there'll be a void between 55 n 75.

Speaking of pwp, isit still possible to purchase e lenses at pwp price few days after I bought e camera? Can't remember wat lenses were available though..

The pwp is available through all official sony dealers. Where did you get your camera from?

You should be able to get it if you bought from authorised sony dealers. Go back to them quickly.
If they did ask you to buy additional lens but did not tell you abt pwp, thats unfair practice.
If no, maybe they missed out and forget to tell you.

If they did tell you, but you couldnt make up your mind, still go back and ask for it. I did not see any fine print stating that offer will be invalid once you walk out of the shop.

In my case, the SAL50F18 was out of stock. i could have got the body first and come back again for the lens. that itself will means i "did not bought the lens immediately" but i still get the pwp price. i just elected to wait for the lens to arrive, then get the body together. no need to go back to the shop so many times.

Bought at sony center funan.. went back there today to ask, and i still could buy the pwp lenses! but then no have 55-200 ....

so i bought the 50f18 instead! at $119, i think its a steal. Havent had a chance to really take pics with it, but took one test shot and i just love the bokeh.

Good to hear that you managed to get the SAL50F18 at $119. thats the old pwp price. there are also two new bros that got theirs for $99. The latest pwp price is $169.
