Photography is fun...

have you try take photo with good sunlight? i think it will be better ...probably you can show us here with other photo you have taken ...

Show pics with exif data. We then discuss :D

Always read the manual. It offers more information than you think you already know. Otherwise you can check out this website. Lovely place to learn esp for beginners.

thanks to all advises...
i have the 50mm f1.8 II lens... i just thought it was good for portraits... didn't use it for the badminton shots...

i will try it the next time and see how it goes....

appreciate your advise and help guys!

this is what makes a forum a forum :)

Cheers!

What is a faster lens?
How do i identify a faster lens?

Hmm... i'm such a noob lol...

Haa... Your 50mm f1.8 is a fast lens... much faster than your kit lens... You should try using that to capture sports action next time if you want to "freeze" the action under low light condition...

Its quite difficult to take a "freezing" action of a person smashing under indoor lighting... Shutter speed is normally in the 1/1000sec range and aperture of kit lens is too small to compensate for that.. only way is to increase the ISO by alot.. but that will introduce noise... So, try it out with your f/1.8 first.. it should improve significantly...

hiya thanks for the link... :) hmm ok i try to post some pics here... :)

I'm no pro, but I like the shots of your food! I think they're pretty good IMO though haha.

Mind sharing what lens you used? Your kit lens or the other =/? Just wondering :D

Thanks for the reply hehe...

Ryusei: Thanks for the advise... may I ask if close up shots like these should use a smaller f stop number or larger?

Linnl71: I used my Kit lens 18-55mm IS...
