I will name the shop here and now. The name of the shop is DDElectronics (DDE, DD Electronics) Singapore, and I have been liasing with Mike for the servicing / return of the said lens in the above thread. Why have I decided to name the shop openly now ? Well I think its no longer an issue of me getting my lens back, but the whole process that has become an epic saga itself.
Following the closing of that thread, I have been calling them at least twice a week asking for updates.
Week of 3rd June - Lens didn't come in, called, talked to Mike, we laughed at how ridiculous the situation was (yes, I laughed at the situation and he laughed with me). Told me that how the supplier couldn't get the lens for me. Asked me to check back on next Tues to see if the shipment comes in.
Week of 10th June - Checked with them on Tuesday, lens did not come in. Asked me to check on Friday/Saturday. Called them on either Friday or Saturday, he said that it should be coming in on next Tuesday and he will send it via courier when it arrives and will include a free gift. I asked him if he knew my address, he said yes.
Week of 17th June - Lens did not turn up at my door on Tuesday, gave them another 2 days, called them on Thursday, said it didn't come in, supplier had problems getting it in Canon mount. No ETA available. Asked me to check back again on Fri/Saturday. Called on Saturday, he seemed to be busy, said will call me back in 15 minutes, didn't call back, I called back 45 mins. Told me the lens is not coming in today. Told me he will call me back on Monday. I told him I will call him back on Monday.
I have been patient and relatively polite with DDE throughout all the correspondences, but please don't flame and troll me for being so. It isn't wrong to be patient and polite...
Perhaps I am beyond unhappy already, and perhaps I just want to see how long the story can go on before I get it back.
I will update this thread as it progresses.
