Network for photographers' assistants

anybody interested in doing food and interior photography as well?

I am interested in food as well. If no model/low budget, shooting food is a good idea and more room for creativity also.

I think it will be a good idea to narrow down the varied themes. If not, we will be going nowhere. I am more interested in commerical studio kind of pictures. If pictures don't sell, there is no point in spending the time and effort. Though other pictures sell too, but are we still sticking to studio work? Perhaps, we should make it clear from the start that certain themes are out. For example, how are we supposed to do landscape photography in the studio? Who would be so free to construct the mountains, hills and rivers in the studio? Anyway, that is still not landscape photography also. In terms of product photography, I don't encouage abstract also. The boss is going to go after your neck if you make the customers guessing what product you are shooting. Better make the product clear and sharp. Can be a bit moody but never abstract.

 Pretty much agree with that. Think to kick start the whole thing we must be on some common ground. I'm in on studio work cos it's something which I've yet done but very much wanted to do.

stereobox > i dont mind doing food

in this case perhabs the first shoot we concentrate on most interest... maybe indoor fashion? Can be combined wif product shoort... After that we can experiment doing outdoor ( and taking landscape also possible rite? )

Hm... I'm still consider very new to studio, but very interested to get to know more. Can i join too? I'm concentrating on fashion/portraiture. Guess i can be like user12343, BSBH. :bsmilie:

yes, the purpose of starting the list is to get a general idea of what most of us want to do. please keep in mind this will be a learning and sharing experience, a group project.

is it a good idea we get together again to discuss more? or would u guys prefer a poll to decide which theme to work on? we also need to decide on how many people will be involved, their roles and when we are all free to do it.

also, just been notified maybe no lightings will be provided, just the studio space :) not to worry, i will try to work something out in that case.

I will be able to meet next Sat, 24th Sept. Hope that is a good time for everybody.

I'm very much into studio work as well. Trying to specialise more into fashion photography. I sort of have my own studio at home and have 3 600w lights and accessories. Maybe can work something out?

It would be great if you can join us! Welcome on board. :)
