Neoprene wrap better than camera bag

Camera bags have firm sections for a reason. This mean things won't bang each other since they are held in place. Using Neoprene wraps only protect from scratches and light nicks. These Neoprene wraps are so thin that it will not protect against any serious bang or shock. If you don't believe me, you can put your dslr in a dedicated camera bag and drop 30cm. Try it with a neoprene warp and drop 30cm. Which packing will the dslr survive? ;)

I have a Neoprene SLR case, but usually I use it for bring my camera to service center, so I don't have to use a camera bag. :)

don't you think is very troublesome when you want to set up for a shoot?

For transporting in bag, then when it's tie to shoot, set up, and hold the camera from then-on :D

let says someone using this method, he has one DSLR, two lenses, one flash, so need one case for body with lens attach, one lens case, one flash case, add it up will be almost $100.00, might as well just get a small lowepro camera bag.

if want to add non photography stuff into camera bag, there is camera bag specially design for this purpose. Neoprene wrap will not give proper protection to the camera.

no shock protection.

try put in any normal bag without padding then swing it ard etc. then u will say neoprene sucks.

this wrap is good to protect from water or other liquids. but definitely not for shock protection.

Thank you for clarifying for me :)

I suppose u have to take into consideration the fact that the bag (into which u put your neoprene wrapped camera) provides an additional layer of protection. this might not be as much padding as specialist camera bags, but do u think it is enough?

anyway its silly to compare this way:

Neoprene wrap vs camera bag

a wrap is always a wrap while a bag is always a bag, both got its own purpose.

u cannot compare apple with orange :bsmilie:

and a wrap can never beat a bag otherwise those bag companies would have close down cos ppl will choose a wrap over a bag. :bsmilie:
