Ok, my first test roll on Neopan 1600:

Rated 1250 and 1600 in D76 1+1 for 6min 45s at 25c. Neg looks good with naked eyes but the scanned images are grainier than TRI-X in Diafine. I find the film should be rated at 1000 (will test that in my 2nd roll tonight). It recorded more shadow details than Diafine.

Rated 2400 and 3200 in Diafine. Almost as good as Tri-x in Diafine rated at 1000 but grainier and more contrasty. I think 2400 is the right EI in Diafine. If you need that extra stop and dun mind 'uglier grain' (my own perception), neopan is a good choice, else TRI-X in Diafine at 1000 is still my preference. 3200 gives a much thinner neg, so I guess it would be hard to print and shadow details will not be recorded as much.

Will post some pix later.

I updated this in the recipe here:

Enjoy

Rated at 1250 in D76 1+1 25c 6.45min. Grain is coarser in d76 than Diafine. I recommended rating this film at 1000.

Rated at 1600. This EI seemed right but the neg is slightly thicker.

Rated 2400 in Diafine... slightly more grainy than tri-x in diafine at 1000. Still good. Finer grain in Diafine, but in my opinion, TRI-X in Diafine fare better, but it looses a stop.

Just my opinion..
