Need some advice.

I am a bit late into the discussion, but if you are still feeling bad about your A380, try reading what the design team has to say behind the unique design of this series of alphas. The grip was not a mistake or oversight, it was done on purpose cos this camera is to be held different from mainstream DSLR (think GF1 or Olympus PEN)! Hope this will cheer you up....

Nah, I got some nice ones, but all usually photoshopped to some degree, hah. USually photoshop it to make more vivid colors and higher contrast (usually I go overboard, bleh). The ones that I took at Labrador Park are the mostly dud ones. Still haven't figured out how to do a pano for sea-scapes =/

So it's better to go for the Sony batteries? I don't mind paying extra for that assurance that someone won't happen to my baby, lol.


And yeah, when I asked for 3rd party Sony battery, they say will spoil the camera. If C or N won't have any problems heh. Then I went to another shop to ask, excellent service and super friendly.. heh.

Also (more questions), is a dry cabinet, 50 litres at 199 worth to buy? I think 50l should be more than enough for my needs for now and into the distant future, or will a 30l suffice? Planning to get 50mm 1.8, HVL-F42M flash only for now, and then most probably nothing else, maybe a 18-250 if I get to a point where I find changing lenses is getting too annoying.

Read that some time ago, but I'm sure if it's wise for Sony to go for a radical design like that. Many folks here just can't get it.

That's a bit expensive. I got my 60L for $189 (+ free delivery) last year from Suntec Carrefour. Maybe you should check that place out.

30l 129$ i think. Can't go above 50l due to space constraints (and I will not ever need anything about that, 50l I think quite generous liao)

Wierd Grip

- that's why I held my kanchiong spider at bay and waited for the a5xx series to launch =p. A3xx series is targeted at pns converts and females, hence the focus on light weight and size, which includes making the grip smaller.

So, 2 things you can do.

1. as your set is still new, you can still sell it and get most of your money back and then upgrade to my prefered model...at least that's what I'd do. I might lose $200-300 in the process but the way I look at it, it's gonna be with me for at least 3-5 years, so I pay the $200-300 for lessons in choosing an dlsr and to enjoy my prefered camera later.

2. Stick you what you have and slowly fall in love with it =p

Original batteries

- as with all batteries, the thing with originals is that it is reassuring because there's a certain level of quality that's to be expected of it. It's not like all 3rd party batteries will spoil the camera (it's a fairy tale to scare auntie and uncles), but if it really damages your camera, set will not be covered by warranty because damage was done by a 'uncertified' product. Moreever, the risk is higher, because you're not sure what to expect of it. Will the battery lose its charge faster? Will the paper-weight transformation happen early? etc etc etc.

I'd stick to originals, unless the 3rd party comes highly recommended by users (not salesman.)

Any a380 users care to enlighten me?

I tried taking some AEB shots to make into a HDR (so far failed, meh), and I can't seem to get all three shots to be taken one after the other, I have to hold the shutter down. I read the manual, but can't seem to glean any info (or maybe reading wrong section). Also, is the AEB really only -0.3/0/+0.3 and -0.7/0/+0.7?
