Wow, i don't even know where to start, I'm a total noob when it comes to video cams. My dad wishes to get a video camera for his company use and he wants something smaller, after looking, seems like Canon Legria series is not bad. Anyone have any advice on any particular brand or model? Budget is not a problem as long as its not over the top as the company is paying. Thanks guys!!

Consider Panasonic TM700 - Camcorder of the year 2010. Sony CX550 is a close second. These two are the kings of low light and uses the "Active" Optical Image Stabiliser system that's shockingly effective. The Sony gives a wider angle, but the Panasonic has more control over audio and image. If wide angle is a must, go for CX550; otherwise TM700 is the best consumer class camcorder that money can buy for now. However, be warned that the TM700 shoots at 1080p AVCHD which would pose a challenge for editing systems in the office. For 720p recording, you will have to go for TM700's bigger brother the HMC41. It is double the size of the TM700 and about $1000 more.

Don't understand the logic. Since your Dad's company is buying then why you're involved?

Anyways...Legria H21 is good.

Thanks!! I shall look out for the 2. But what if they are going to view it without editing? Because they are using it for documentation reasons rather than movie making.

Haha because my dad is supposed to buy it for his company then claim the money back. So he delegated the job to me and now I'm supposed to look at it:bsmilie:

Then you also get to use it right? Ah...now I see the relationship.

Typo error earlier...get the HF-S21. It's HD, 25p with 64G flash based memory.

Thanks I will check that out. Yes I can use it but I'm more inclined to still picture rather than motion pictures. Like a photographer once said "it takes them 2 bloody hours to tell a story, I do it in one picture":bsmilie:
