hi all..
while i was digging thru my dads dry cabinet, i found a russian medium format camera. now im quite interested to take it for a spin the coming weekend, but i've never used a medium format camera nor was i into the medium format system. i was fiddling with it in the morning and i have a few questions for those who know.

1) why is the viewfinder blur(using the prism finder)? am i using the wrong screen for the prism finder or is there anything wrong with it? its blur even after focusing.

But when i take out the prism finder, the screen is much clearer and brighter, but horizontally inverted. is it supposed to be that way?

2) wat is the function of this silver opening at the back of the film back?

.

3) is this a 6x6 ,or 6x7 format film back? it looks like 6x6 to me

.

4) i presume this is the flash setting. What do they represent? "X" and "FP"

would also appreciate too if someone could help me ID this camera.

I have seen these before.

I think :
The prism may be blur because your dad placed in a diopter correction lens in the circular eyepiece. It is specialised for his eye.
You can remove the diopter piece and all will be OK.
