To save on money, TS could also look into the Samyang series of manual focus lenses. Or if he/she wanted, he/she could look to ebay and get those old vintage lenses that are pretty sharp (although these lenses are manual lenses).

I quite like the tokina 11-16. It is a very sharp lens but it turn me off cos it is for EF-S mount.
So anybody can suggest some mount for full frame so that even crop body also can use.

As for the sigma 8-16, there is some distortion which the degree depends on how it is taken

I think you are gravely limiting your options if you insist on using full frame lenses to fulfill your wide angle needs on crop sensors.

I assume you understand the crop factor of cropped sensors, and that you would need a lens of a wider focal length to achieve the same angle of view as a full frame camera.

Thus, a full frame wide angle lens won't look too wide on a cropped sensor. Consider the 16-35mm f/2.8II L lens mounted on a full frame sensor. To achieve the same angle of view (16mm at full frame), you'd need 10mm on a cropped sensor.

If you want a 10mm full frame lens, well, I can't think of any really.

Circular fisheyes... Well, Nikon has a 6mm and a 8mm fisheye. If you can afford it...

Otherwise, you are only left with the Sigma 12-24mm. That's probably the only choice you have.

Also, it does not use the EF-S mount. It uses the EF mount but just that the image circle is optimized for crop.

Also, the Tamron 10-17 no hood option is a good choice.

Haha. Yes. The Tokina 11-16mm is an effective 15/16mm prime lens on full frame, I believe?

As for the Tokina 10-17mm, I guess that's what the hood less version is for? I have not seen it in action on a full frame body though.

The Canon 8-15 fisheye does the same thing on full-frame, with the hard vignetting as the other two, but no one seems to mind. Just think of them as fisheyes, rather than rectilinear super wides and all will be fine.
