Need help about battery

Hi everyone, i'm back with another newbie question. :bsmilie:
I just got a Olympus XA , inside it already have battery . But i wonder the battery good or not, the battery is a76 .....union something. Can't read. Is A76 suitable for this battery. I heard that A76 and lr44 can be use, i have no idea where can get those, can u guys help me where can i buy those battery

Another questions to XA user is that,when i check the battery, the beep is short,first time i try it longer. i don't know why ? THanks 4 ur help.

Use a multimeter to check batteries ! I don't know how to; but i know it tells you all you need to know about the health of the battery.

The shutter button needs battery to function. So as long as it can function means there's enough juice. Will that do?

These batteries A76 or LR44 are readily available in neighbourhood photoshops or even Cold Storage/ NTUC.

Ok,thanks juggler. But the problem is i want to know the alkaline lr44 will do any harm to the meter ,must i use sr44 ? I heard that lr44 will make the meter go drive off, but i can't find sr44
