Sell ur Nikon and/or get Canon 7D + 400mm f/5.6 + TC. The next best thing in terms of weight, IQ, $$$ etc..

ps- I'm still a Nikon user and 'these' hunt me for several weeks before I make my plunge to....

Not a good move to jump gun, there is no diff between N & C body, the lens yes... If you are still N user then I suggest you get Nikor 300mm F4 + TC 1.4x .

Sorry late to this replied cos I was having flu and fever for the past 10 days and hv just recovered, seen your waxbill taken with 300 F4 + TC 1.4X, excellent. the IQ is rather sharp and big after cropped.
Just another question on the Kenko TC. I have read somewhere that the "Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 DGX 1.4 Nikon AF" do sometime report wrong EXIF data right ?
showing 300mm instead of 420mm ...will this affect the IQ or how frequent does it gave wrong data?

The waxbills were taken with the 300 F4 +
Nikon 1.7x TC.

I have the kenko 1.4x tc as well and have no issues with incorrect exif data.
