One more thing: are you using a filter in front of the lens? There seems to be a haze/diffused glow which I've seen before from either cheap filters or a smudged/dirty filter.

I think it's a case of focusing on wrong part of the picture.. i think some parts of the photos are pretty sharp.

I think it is with the focussing and the aperature. I had this problem when i started off. Learning curve maybe. but with photoshop you can still save some life of the picture. Some sharpening and curves.
