in the first place, have you check with your primary photographer?
does he ok with the idea of you have a second shooter that he not familiar with?

will both of then compliment each other instead of fighting for shooting opportunities and angles?

if you really want a second shooter, best is ask him to recommend or engage one, so will have better coordination and everything will run smoothly on your wedding day.

Hey, i know what you mean. A 2nd photographer offers a different view. As such.. my only worry is that they get into each other's way. Im intending to do a meetup closer to my AD so that there will be some form of 'coordination' between them but not enough for them to be shooting the same things and offering the same perspective. =)
