Thanks fro sharing... you have a nice shot.

The pictures of the fireworks are very well taken.
However, I feel that if it is not possible to have the skypark as the background, you should just focus on the fireworks.
Showing a small piece of the skypark at a corner doesn't really make the picture looks better.

Hi,

I really like ya fireworks pics. Able to share the lens and setting u used?

I will be shooting some fireworks at an event in my place with my tripod.

Are u able to advise whether which of the 3 lens I have is more suitable for the capture? I supposed the 55 - 200mm?

Cheers!

Thanks for your comment :)

I kinda agree with you.. the building at the corner doesn't really "add" anything..

But somehow I find it weird w/o some "land" in the picture.. juz a personal preference..

Maybe later I'll post up some pictures with more land..

Hi, Thanks for your comments :)

I used the EFS 18-55 IS kit lens for those pictures. Shot at 18mm, F11 and bulb mode. Around 2~5sec exposure (each picture is different).

I crop away much of the land.. maybe that's why it doesn't appear like taken at 18mm.

Assuming if you're near the fireworks (e.g. bridge, esplanade area, skypark etc..), I would suggest using 18mm to capture the fireworks, especially if it's the first time taking that firework and you do not know exactly where the fireworks will appear.

It's better to capture more and crop later then being unable to capture the full bloom.

I'll recommend the 18-55mm.

But if you're much further away, then maybe need a tele lens.

If you don't have wide angle lens, one way to do it is to take pictures of sky park and fireworks separately.

Then join them together with photoshop :D

This are the original pictures with more "land"

I wanted to focus more on the beauty of the fireworks, hence, crop out much of the land.

Your original looks better :D

Looks better than mine :D

Actually the composition quite nice.. especially with the flyer.. :)

After the construction is completed, that looks like a nice spot.. merlion?

Actually the first few pic with the MBS looks kinda distracting.
Seems to be a tad extra.. I think cropping it away will do the fireworks more justice.

Good shots :) Yes I agree the original shots were better. There is more sense of background and foreground in the originals. And thanks for sharing :)
