For 2 Saturdays, its ard 8:30pm. Best to be there early as the actual day draws nearer as good spots will most likely be snapped up fast

The 1st Saturday, fireworks started at 8:25 PM.
The 2nd Saturday, fireworks started at 8:35 PM.

When you see the SG flag on the stadium roof ( roof turned red and white ) , the fireworks is going to start.

based on above, even with a kit lens you should be able to get the full glory of the fireworks as the area has some distance from the National Stadium. not many last Saturday but i'm guessing it will get crowded as NDP nears. will try and scout a few more location.

planning to go this sat?

can have the basic setting so I have a baseline setting already.
ISO 200
SS 1/10?
f8-11?

I would go for:
1. Bulb mode
2. F13
3. Count manually. There are times they shoot so much that you want to shorten your count. I usually do 8 seconds
4. ISO200 is fine

ISO is 200 if i remember correctly
aperture is only f10 as anything higher and more sensor dust would be visible and i hate to clean sensor on the field.
Shutter speed is 20sec for the background and 5 sec on the fireworks itself. i dont normally go B mode as anything overexposed or underexposed can be adjusted in post.
normally i set long exposure noise reduction to off just before the fireworks start.

also i operate the camera via the smart remote app from my samsung tablet to minimize camera shake as well as to review the image directly from a larger screen and adjust whatever is required.

There are no rehearsals / preview planned this Saturday so I guess there won't be fireworks till the actual day :)

There won't be anymore previews or rehearsals on the 6th. We only have the actual day left to shoot.
