Lol Rashkae. If you believe in teaching the newbies, you should guide them. If you say they are lazy and dont find their information. That is as good as a teacher telling a student "go read your textbook". However, some students are notoriously slow in learning. And trust me, there are people who are notoriously bad in search engines. I was once like that. Until I went into a job that needed me to search companies all over the world for information, and I had someone who sat with me to teach me how to think of important keywords to help me get what i want.
My observation is that you are thinking you are doing the right thing. Sadly, your friends arent helping you. So while people tell u off, your friends are telling u "no man ur the best". That is no way to teach a man how to fish. He doesnt need u to tell him there is a search tool on CS. What u need to tell the newbie is for example if he wishes to search more about ND filters particularly in CS, he can for example search for "ND filters clubsnap" in google, then open up all the linked results in clubsnap and he will have a list of CS threads with ND filters.
Now I am walking the talk and teaching you how to teach a newbie and how to guide a person without giving him a fish. The tactic I employed earlier, which i didn't expect my thread would be closed, was to use how u talk against you. Now I'm showing you how to teach a man to fish. Your idea is right, but your method is wrong. It is up to u whether to buy what i said. If you teach people in this way, u dont give them the fish, but u will generate alot less copycats.
And with regards to freeman, he stuck his nose in without understanding my intentions. As for Kei, i am less harsh as he wasnt being nosey, in fact he thought i was being rude and tried to advise me.
Real teachers do not make their students feel put down. Karma bites. If that is how you would like your son's teacher to teach your son "eh go read tb lah, ur tb so thick why u no go read", then please go ahead. Otherwise, I think i have more or less explained my intentions. I hope this will make you a better teacher, as you see yourself as one. Although to be honest, no one is a teacher here.
