most ppl puke along the road while sitting on the curb. ;)

Fair enough, I think that they need to do a major rethink of how things are done.

There's no first aid station and this is a high impact event where major falls do happen and you'll need an experienced first aider for head injuries and c-spine management.

Well, look at it this way. Organising such an event requires $$$. If you have to buy tickets to go in and watch/support, then would you pay for that? Of coz, then u can probably expect aircon/ventilators and nice backdrops. :bsmilie:

I don't work for them, but i know they are _really_ tight on budget and sponsors.

Here's my contribution to this thread.

My personal opinion as an experienced cheerleader,

The so called Cheerleading Association (Singapore) is a total management flop. Despite numerous feedback, comments and ideas from parents, schools and public to improve areas like location, media, spectators and the well being of the cheerleaders, nevertheless from the 2nd competition onwards I have witnessed the sad demise quality of cheer events being organised by them.

This time there were no GOH, VIP or publicity. Noticed how many secondary sch and primary school took part. Only to hastily put together a compeitition just for the sake of it. If it is a National Cheerleading Competition then why are there so many loopholes?

I am just saddened by the situation that CAS does not place importance on the cheerleaders, spectators and the media in their agenda. One can think how far the cheer community could go if they rely on such an association. The YOG? I believe it is just a stunt accouncement to make the event feel important.

Well, there is another photo opportunity. The Singapore Kindness Movement Cheerfest 2009. To be held at Ngee Ann City on 30 and 31 May 2009. This event is organised by SKM. So put a date on your organisers for this cheerleading event. :D Cheers!

Hi Ben!

I don't know you personally but I do know who you are and heard alot about you from my fellow cheerleaders.

No offence but I do not think your act of voicing your opinions about the association in a public forum very honorable.

I have friends who worked their asses off organizing this competition on a voluntary basis while juggling their studies and work and within a very limited budget. Im glad they organized this competition "for the sake of it" cuz if there was no cheerobics this year, I would be crushed. My team and I worked for months to participate in this competition.

I don't know how much of the things you have done that ive heard from my friends are true but right now, im rather inclined to believe that it's true. Instead of insulting the association in a public forum, to local and international cheerleaders and associations from other countries, why not for a change try acting like a real cheerleader and be more sportsmanlike about it? If I have grouses about something or someone, I would address them directly instead of gossiping behind them. So why not email the association or talk to their committee directly? Or better yet, volunteer your services as what my friends did.

I hate to think what others would think about cheerleaders after all the bitching that has been done in public and to international organizations and cheerleaders. Aren't we suppose to advocate team work, sportsmanship and positivity in all our dealings with other people? What would people think about Singapore cheerleaders?

Although I do not think the competition this year is well-organised enough, but i do appreciate the hardwork the committee has put in. After all, we must take into consideration that the association has no full time staff or ample budget for operations and events. At least I know they try their best within time, manpower and financial constraints.

Bottom line is, I think there is thin line between offering constructive criticisms and insult. It's like saying a photo is overexposed as opposed to saying the photographer of the overexposed photo sucks.

SHOUT OUT TO THE PHOTOGRAPHERS!
Great pictures! I can actually find a wonderful picture of me and my team! Thank you for sharing the awesome pics!

Hi +evenstar!:D

Yup, had to create an account so I can actually type a reply.

I do visit Clubsnap forum, just that im more like a voyeur. You can say I appreciate good pictures but never had the talent to produce great photos, hence I do not see the need to create an account. I like to visit this forum to check out works of local talented photographers. I do not have the habit of embarassing myself by making some amateur comments. :sweatsm:

So technically speaking, im actively reading the forum posts and checking awesome pics but i appear pretty much idle cuz i dont comment. :)

Hope i didnt offend you in the process.

Cheers!
