The "Tilly" (Utility) was the name given to a number of British vehicles produced during WW2 based on civilian car designs, adapted for use by each of the armed forces across all areas during the conflict. The key vehicles used were the Austin, Hillman, Morris and Standard.

The Austin Tilly (this model) is based on a civilian car design Austin 10 saloon. The chassis is the same size as the Austin 10 and it uses a "platform" construction that is the result of welding a pressed-steel floor to a frame, which results in great diagonal stiffness. The motor has more power, a water pump is added, a bigger fuel tank and the use of "cross-country" tyres. About 30.000 vehicles were build.

"Like all branches of the German military the Panzers had their own Chained Dogs" or M.P.'s. This figure can be "policing" the front-line as well as rear areas or directing traffic or even on the lookout for deserters!"
