No, it's not a FF issue. That would turn out very clearly in any focus test with test charts. I suspect it's a focusing issue due to the way the focusing system works. The focus area is bigger than just the spot where the focusing point is. Draw a circle around the dust bins covering about 30% of the image width and you'll include the lamp post which gives a very clear vertical target. That's what the focusing system is looking for: vertical and horizontal lines of contrast. I had the same issue where objects near the centre turned out sharp instead of the centre where the focus point was. After checking all these images again I noticed what distracted the focus system.
