When my clock is 5pm... the race starts exactly! The first car that i see from where i was...

No doubt, it is Jenson Button, whom was at pole position.

My field of vision is within the circled red line. Look at the ppl sitting at the other side of the hill thru the mall area in the first photo, that is G Hill Stand, looks like a good position. Wonder there can see start / finish line?

maybe cant see start finish straight from G hillstand as there is the pit complex - but not too sure. Maybe from F Grandstand can see the start finish straight/turn 15 area.

After the A1 have finished... the 2 AMG MB swung by again...

The AMG MB SL63 safety car has a 6300cc V8 525bhp engine, modified exhaust, modified suspension, & weight reduction of 220kg compared to a road going AMG SL63 production vehicle. It does 0-100kmh in 4.4sec.

The AMG sport exhaust system with larger pipe diameter and special rear silencers allows the high-revving AMG naturally aspirated engine to breathe even more freely - and gives it an even sportier sound compared to road going production model.

The transmission is newly developed AMG SPEED SHIFT MCT 7-speed auto sports with column shift. It is possible to change gear in just 100 milliseconds.

The suspension can be customised to a specific racetrack by means of individual suspension setup configurations.

3-stage ESP and rear-axle differential lock with 30% locking effect provides optimum traction in all weather conditions.

In the interests of reliability even at high tropical ambient temperatures like in Malaysia, the car incorporates large-size, additional coolers for engine oil, transmission oil, coolant and power steering.

AMG high-performance braking system is equipped all round with internally ventilated composite brake discs. The front axle is fitted with six-piston fixed callipers and discs of size 390mm. The rear features four-piston fixed callipers with brake discs of size 360mm.

The engine bonnet, front and rear aprons, front wings and luggage compartment lid are produced from carbon-fibre. The convertible folding metal top roof is ditched for a fixed roof, as it will always be driven with top up. Despite additional cooling measures, lighting system and communications equipment, the car is lighten by 220kg, weighing in at just 1750 kilograms (with a full tank and without occupants).

A prominent feature at the rear of the vehicle is the modified diffuser insert in the rear apron, which incorporates the active rear-axle cooling, this compensating for temperature peaks in the highly stressed differential housing.

The high-performance estate vehicle is powered by the same AMG 6300cc V8 engine, which delivers 457Bhp, 600Nm of torque for this car. The AMG sport exhaust system boasts larger pipe diameters and new rear silencers, this resulting in a considerably more distinctive sound that comes out of the two chrome-plated dual tailpipes, smiliar to the AMG SL63 safety car.

The cooling of coolant, engine oil, transmission oil and power steering has been optimized, this being visible also from the new AMG front apron with its considerably larger cooling-air openings. The power from the engine is transmitted via the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC PLUS, which blips the throttle when changing down for even greater smoothness. Perfect traction is guaranteed by the combination of 3-stage ESP and differential lock with 35% locking effect.

Brakes & suspension is similiar to the AMG SL63 safety car.

how i wish i could own one. they were playing chasing each other down at the marina bay circuit last year during the trial runs & the engine note is just sweet.

I think if you have abt $380K you can buy the AMG C63. The AMG SL63 will cost you $600K i suppose.

The modified brakes, suspension, transmission & exhaust on these 2 'F1 Safety cars' can be had on production models, just 'option' for it. I bet the price will swell by another $100K or so if you tick all of them.

AMG allows you to have many options. The AMG SL65 is 612bhp, you can have it to 650bhp, or even 720bhp if your pocket is deep enough... Or there is also 'Brabus' or Fab Design' (from Switzerland) that offers 650bhp & 720-730bhp. The standard AMG SL65 already has 1000Nm of torque. These power up version have even more. The 650bhp version have 1200Nm torque at 1800rpm onwards. 720bhp/730bhp even more atrocious, 1300Nm of torque. I've never heard a car can have so much torque, RWD somemore. They run to 350km/h top speed. Of course, this category is more than a million dollars liao...

I think this is 1st lap... we have Jenson button (Brawn), Jarno Trulli follow by Timo Glock, (both Toyota).

Behind them were Nico Rosberg (Williams), Mark Webber (Redbull) & Robert Kubica (BMW).

Nico Rosberg pulls away...

Then came Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari) & Ruben Barrichello (Brawn), whom was 4th on the grid, but felt back...

After that came Fernando Alonso (Renault) & Nick Heidfeld (BMW).

Follow by Kazuki Nakajima (Williams) & everybody's 'favourite guy' :bsmilie: Lewis Hamilton (McLaren).

Then, the last few of the 1st lap... we have Sebastien Bourdais (Torro Rosso), Felipe Massa (Ferrari) & Nelsinho Piquet (Renault).

Last 3 for the 1st lap are Giancarlo Fisichella, Adrian Sutil (both Force 'Inndiaa'), & Sebastien Buemi (Toro Rosso).

That pretty sums it all for the first lap, only 1min after 5pm... nothing really happened yet... with the exception of Heikki Kovalainen (McLaren) whom spun.. I didn't get to see him at all. He admitted it's himself at fault.

Robert Kubica (BMW). A while later, his car's exhaust was blowing with white smoke... like white smoke coming out of a chimney. It was beautiful! I didn't get to capture that... such a waste!
