Update:
For the SX10 IS, Canon Singapore is now giving away 4 x AA GP ReCyko batteries plus charger, in addition to the 8GB SDHC card. Much better than the previous GP charger plus batteries given away. Wasted, I did not get this freebie.
From my experience, camera prices are not cheaper at IT shows. Most of the time, they are sold at higher listed prices. But you may get all sorts of freebies.
well, can conclude noise is definitely better den S5is
and ur macro looks sharp
Btw, the SX1 is quoted at AUD 819 and at the current exchange rate. Its about the same as SGD.

Bought my Canon SX10 IS, 2 days back at Audio House for $695. Bought it from a nice guy called Wayne
Accessories (after lots of bargaining and cost cutting):
- 1x 8GB SDHC Kingston card
- 4x AA GP Recyko batteries plus charger
- 2.5" LCD screen protector
- Cleaning kit with lens solution
took away the tripod and camera bag
Next: Going to buy the 58mm lens filter adapter from Lensmate, the lens cap with tether, and the Hoya UV Black lens filter
is the max shutter speed for SX10 15 seconds only? anyway to make it longeR?
