I was thinking the Lensmate stuff will be more useful no? Just buy a conversion thread and you can screw on most other 58mm lens made for this camera.

i found out tt long exposure 15s on S5 always produce a blurry image..

first i tot was a weak tripod problem, so i left it on e ground, but again, this problem surface -> unless my hse keep shaking which i dint notice :sweatsm:

is it due to IS? haben got a chance to try it

Ok u may want to try this;

Manual settings. Maintain your ISO to 80. Bump up the aperture, f4.0-f5.6. 10-15secs shutter speed. Manual focus.

omy my, whats the best setting for taking the moon? ive seen many good shot with craters visible. i tried but most are quite blurry. is it that the moon isnt luminous enough?

or must i buy an additional lens?

Turn off IS if you are on a tripod already. And for macro shots also. Even the most minute movement might cause the IS to overcompensate.

another bimbotic question: what size(resolution ) and quality dya guys shoot at and which one is optimum if i always resize my photos to 800 x 600?

now im using the 2048 x 1536 and superfine, but it looks too sharp at times?

I always set at the 2nd largest resolution and don't do any resizing cos i don't see the need to.

Too sharp??? All looks the same to me except different sizes. More pixels = more details.

go max possible resolution and minimal compression. There is really no point in trying to save a few bytes here and there. Memory is all too cheap.

Hi guys, its really been sometime since i've posted in here again..

Bought my S5IS last year slightly b4 xmas and well, i'm still very newbie to this camera.. hahaha..

Anyway guys, juz wanna ask if u're bringing ur S5 overseas with you on a tour, wad kinda add-ons (lenses, etc) do you bring along with you? (I noe this is subjected to wad u wanna snap during the trip but I juz wanna seek your opinions and why?)

Dun really noe if i've got the time to snap pictures whiles overseas because its a group tour. Nonetheless, I still wanna capture those memorable pictures, juz that settings wise, I'm not very good at it.

Juz a list of things i'm bringing with me

1. Tripod
2. Wide-angle lens
3. Circular polarizer lens filter.

Can you kind pple advise me on the likely settings that I would need to utilize in the morning and at nite?

Really appreciate your imputs.

Tks!

For travels, I'd like it light. Just the S5 with lens adaptor on UV filter and my wide angle. Oh include extra batts too.

and which country? If it's a country where memory card is cheap, then no need to buy extra now. :P

oh ya.. forgot to include the batts.. bringing 1x 4pc of eneloop, 1x 4pc of GP 2300 batts, a eneloop charger and the adapter..

hi peekarwe, i'm heading to shanghai for 8 days.. a trip which I won in a competition back in Dec '07. For memory card, guess 2x 2GB + 1x 1GB memory card will suffice..

;)

If you were to take advantage of the superb video capability of the S5, I would suggest to bring along at least a 4GB card.

For group travel, don't think you have much time to set out the tripot. A mini one may be good for occasional shot.

Gorilla tripod? Anyone has a good deal for them? Checked with OP was $35 for the small one.

All i know is that CP does sell these in all colours and sizes. They also have accessories for the Gorillapod.

oh? you mean to say there are more than 2 sizes?
