The S5 IS doesn't need another macro conversion lens as its macro/super macro's already impressive. Canon only sells the wide and tele-conversion lenses. What is needed is up to what u want to shoot. I cannot tell u what u need.

I have a set up for graps...
Wide converter + Adapter

If u wanna play this is a good choice, becoz one day u may wanna "upgrade" to dSLR like me...

This kit also have a macro adapter to let u shoot really close, I only did it once.

Like snoweagle said - Depends on what u wanna shoot. And also ur creativity.

Wide angle.

I shot this at wheelock place on a moving escalator! Haha.. got it rite on the first try.
w a 5D (dSLR) i gotta take the escalator 3 times... quite funny.
Having live-view and a tilt-siwel screen is a real plus.

Yes agree with that, as long as u don't put any conversion lens on it.

Sorry to sidetrack here but I was just browsing through the net and found this PowerShot PRO 1 which sports an 8 MP CCD, a 7X 'L' lens. Is this the very first introduction of the PowerShot series cuz for some reason I do not see any 'PRO' version at Canon sites. :think:

Yup, i believe it was lauched before the S3 IS. It's has UD glass, hence the "L" title.

The Pro 1 was launched several years ago and is the only Canon PS series with a L lens. Since then there hasn't been anymore PS series with L lens built-in.

BTW there's another Pro series, the Pro 90 IS which is even earlier than the PS Pro 1.

Never go buy from there cos prices are sky high. I bought mine from Bally Photo Funan last year.

Yes it can. The maximum supported is how large the current capacity now is. In this case, it's 32GB
