Oh any lens I need to buy and their brand ? I know I need to polarizer to protect the camera lens ..anything I can buy for basic use for travelling . Eg like macro and scenery shots ?

Oh are our S5IS here made in Japan ? Thinking to ask fren to buy in Japan.

Freebies u've to ask them. U might want to try Bally Photo Funan or AP Funan.

I bought mine all original including the lens adapter and hood set and the wide conversion lens.

Yes all S5 IS are made in japan. If yours is not, something's very fishy.

Yea, they were selling 560. with 2gb card and bag only. saw another guy bought. but when i really saw the model in harvey at marine parade was made in china...i turned away. but it was harvey .. wun be fake one ?

The Canon S5 IS is manufactured in both Japan and China. However, the parts are mostly coming from China anyway. The MIC ones are not fakes.

EDIT: take a look at this discussion from another forum. In USA, about 25% of the S5 IS were MIC.

Hmm...i think similarly for the 50 f/1.8 II which was initially made in japan but after that in m'sia. But my S5 IS is made in japan.

its called emoblitz auto focus D728AFC. It is TTL dedicated. i dunno wad that means but the guy told me its actually to communicate with the s5, so i wun have to keep adjusting the exposure.. so far so good ba .oh it comes with a diffuser too

I have not gotten my adaptor. so everytime i go the sale person(amk hub) will ask to buy. When i ask how much, everytime tell me no stock. last time i went was 2 weeks ago. Not too sure do they have it.

Hi Fellow S5 senior,

Got my S5 from the IT show with the same goodies as Emptyxun. Currently is enjoying with the camera.

Great to be with the S5.

BTW anyidea if we get the adapter and len in Singapore is cheaper or Tokyo.
Will be going to Tokyo for holiday next month. Maybe can drop by some of the shop.

Are there now Made in China S5s? I have never seen one that is Made in China. I guess eventually, everything will be made in china.

U right,, i got mine from IT Show, lucky for emptyyun, alias my set is a MIC ..Hope that the quality will not be compromise... understand that the first batch is made in MIJ, subsequent ones all from MIC.But i pretty impress with the function of this cam.. . i guess the price might drop slightly

How long to charge the AA rechargeable batteries ? Eg in this thread Sanyo envelope batteries are mentioned to be able to last whole day . But how abt the charging process- one whole day ?

S5 's movie mode can zoom while recording, correct ?

Number of shots depends on whether you have flash & the mAH of the battery.


You can use the optical zoom when shooting video in S5.

hmm.. I find one of the buttons a little "insensitive", I must press hard on it to get it moving. Sometimes the lens doens't appear to "move out" smoothly when I press on the "ON" button. Not sure if I am just too picky. I figured I can't do much now?
