anyway Ansel Adams once said it's the photographer who makes the picture...
there was an online article of how Astromoners calculated all the right timing and conditions for a particular famous Moon Shot he took sometime back and when all the "pros' with their "pro" equipment came to take the shot with all the right lighting, weather conditions and the right spot they could not replicate Adam's shot!
so whether it's FZ-18 or S5 IS or D300 or 5D or what the camera has or where it's manufactured it's not so crucial
imho even if you've got a poor quality camera can still make great shots i think... i've see great art shots made form cell phones and pin-hole cameras!!!
it's really your skills and creativity

that said i must say i'm happy with my S5 IS at a great price! it helps me make wonderful pictures!!!
