hey all!

need some help here. my camcorder can't record anymore and i figure out why. it can still view, when i put it on camera mode... its still working in the sense that it can show images and capture videos... but it can't record...

any idea why? thanks!

You mean record from line inputs? Maybe there is a menu detting to enable/disable this? Or to set the sockets as Input/Output? Just a suggestion, I'm not familiar with this cam.

hi there! thanks for the imput....

maybe i should define my problem clearly... basically... if i switch on my camcorder to "camera" mode... i will be able to see a "liveview" of the scenary on my screen... however, when i click on the "rec" button... nothing happens...

any idea why?

OK, sorry for misinterpreting the original question.

This is a miniDV cam, right? You mentioned that you can still "capture video", so I assume the tape drive is working OK. The obvious thing (sorry if it is too obvious) to check is that the tape is not write-protected.

When you try to shoot, is there any warning symbol, perhaps something flashing on the LCD panel? This could be telling you that the tape is write-protected, or right at the end of it's 63 minutes duration (although I would expect to see an auto-rewind when it reaches the end).

I've attached a copy of the "red warning" that i have no idea about. don't have my manual anymore. so would really appreciate your help.

my cam hasn't worked for the past 1 yr already. amazingly it worked yesterday, as the red blinking sign stopped blinking a while after i switched it on, when previously, it wouldn't stop blinking.

its the red sign in the middle, i can't make out what it is. thanks again!

I can't open the link, so all I can see is the tiny thumbnail. Looks like a tape symbol to me. Could mean (i) no tape in the camera), (ii) tape is write protected, (iii) tape heads need cleaning.
