This might interest some of the Rollei collector

A 1975 published guide book I picked up during my secondary school days.

If you guys are interested then I will carry on posting some of the pages inside else it will jam up this thread.

Please do if you can. Maybe you can post it in a seperate thread :)
Thanks for sharing :)

Beautiful piece ...

I was speaking with Ron at Ron's Camera, he told me something interesting. In the USA, people or collectors prefer the Carl Zeiss lens for the 2.8F, but in Asia the Schneider is preferred.

One more: Rolleiflex AURUM (supposed to be a 2.8F :) )

.

Ok here goes mine ...

flexaret.jpg

what camera did you use to shoot these?
I am more interested in the camera you used :D
These pics look nice

OMG, the AAARRRRUMMMMM!!!

and Dr Wong, a cord for your stella? hehehe

Don't want lah..... too many Cord....

Stella cheap cheap. Want?

Some TLRs ... I love to use these though, not for collecting (I just noticed the title of the thread),
but these pics may be useful for those looking for one.

Rolleicord Vb - with a prism finder (works on the Rolleiflexes too, those with removable finders)
rolleicord-2-cs.jpg

Rolleiflex 2.8F - with a Mini-Soft Release button for the shutter (from rapidwinder.com)
Handgrip is a 3rd party grip linked to a Rollei quick release plate

Beauties...

Oh yes, forgot the name, the tripod/quick-release plate is the Rolleifix. The grip is from some Japanese manufacturer (SM). I've seen some similar China-made ones at Cathay, low price and adjustable, just add to the Rolleifix (or even without the Rolleifix). It may not be useful to others, but the grip helps me handhold the camera with more stability, and eases straightening my composition faster.

The prism also has its uses. It makes the view slightly smaller, but it gives a non-inverted view. It allows one to raise the camera especially if the lower part of the composition is blocked by something. Also useful under bright sunlight overhead, where the strong light affects viewing through the waist level finder (I use glasses). One can also use the sports finder (if available on the model) for these purposes, but it's an upside down view. I'll use the normal waist level finder whenever I can, though, more discreet.

Thanks, Ansel :-). To quote an oft-repeated adage, "they don't make them like they used to ..."

Looks like a Rolleifix ? :)

seems like the TLRs & medium format are getting more and more popular these days...

the Japan prices have indeed escalated over the past year... can forget finding a Rolleiflex or a Rolleicord for less than SGD1K over here.

but the conditions of the cords & the flexes are much better than in eBay and some are almost mint.

Guess you guys should keep your babies well.... :)

Hi! I have a Yashica MAT - 124, passed to me by my father. The shutter is not working and I would like to get a Seagull or Yashica. But so far no luck after searching around at Adelphi and Peninsula. Need advice as to where I can find the above mentioned brands. Thanks in advance.

for seagull, check out this place:

Seng Cheong Co (Pte) Ltd
Middle Road #04-01/021 I C B Enterprise Hse Singapore 188972
Tel : 6336-3244
Fax : 6339-5875

As for your yashica, if the glass is good, you might want to bring it to this place for a check to get a quote for the repair.

as for the rolleis... check out eBay or this one... seems like a damn pretty babe to own...

Hmmm TLR looks interesting. Can advise which to get? FX? GX? F? Rolleicord? Anyone has website or articles? Thanks.
