my FIRST pic of Manado trip

I prefer the first one. Second one make it look like a duck (maybe it is just me). Also the 2nd 's eye look soft.

poor frogfish now looks like duckfish .. .. :cry:

haha.. i would have thought the second one would be more popular, as i thought the composition is more unique, and looking right down at the throat... while the first one is actually more typical .. .. of course everyone has their own taste... glad you like the first one, hehe

As for the contrast for the 1st, I think it was ok. I set my office monitor a bit darker because I am staring at it for a long time, this will be easier on eyes. Goodoo's touch up look brighter which will mean it will be too much for others.

The second do have a unique composition. just personal feel of duckfish. :dunno:

Lets talk a bit more on lighting. Is there a way to light up the inner throat? I see that the fish is quite white, pushing the power of strobe up will blown the outside of fish. Maybe placement of strobe more toward the front of fish?

we also saw a 3-4cm size frogfish yawn .. too bad we didnt managed to capture it ...

I like the 2nd one... haha. its like a reflection of myself now infront of the computer at work...heh.

anyway, i like it because its dorsal fin is up. looks like its posing for u. but too bad its left pectoral fin is clipped. heh. but nice indeed. nice nice... any pics of the mimic or pgymy?

seewhy: ya, actually this pic was overexposed.. heng i took RAW .... wah, a bit hard to push the strobe in front, it would probably swallow it! hahaha..

actually i didnt think it will display again, so my strobe placement was not meant for illuminating the front....

yeah , first trip out of singapore and malaysia waters in fact, haha... malaysia waters furthest being perhentian/redang ;p

ehhhh.... not sure. shouldnt be more than 30cm or less then 20cm. size of frogfish is about ....12cm?

newbie at underwater shots.... just trying see grass some fundamentals... like distance from subject...flash or no flash.... white balance and BUOYANCY....

my camera fogged up on most part of my trip... at least 70% of my photos kena.. .. the original is err, simply terrible.. .. hee..

i'm ok if you wanna try and perform some magic
