My first photo with shutter count 108, from 3:16

aiyah.. live and let live.

you try demo set, you like. he get a new one for you. you try, then all of a sudden you don't like, how?

that set just became used. you gonna pay for it?

if you feel that the camera is "dirty" then take a cloth wipe it and go out and take more photos. :)

after a while you'll not care about these stuff liao...

why the shop is called JOHN 3:16?

Christian Owner ?

can go and kp one
But then if you not aggressive enough, you will also end up tio jiak.

Aiya, small matter only. In the big scheme of things, 100+ shutter count is nothing. You shutter is rated for like 75K - 100K, right? Forget about it and enjoy your camera. Go and take spectacular photos! By the way, I've also bought cameras with 100+ counts. I find it acceptable because I have also gone to the shops to try but not buy.

Did it get resolved yet?

If he had to take the stock from another unit, then it might just have been a simple oversight.

Go out, enjoy your camera and just treat it as a reminder for future purchases. It's already a month, as you said.

Cheers. :)

Yes. Some of my christian friends actually bought from that shop just because they are christian "based". Yet another marketing technique.

Wow, people actually go for that rather than to get a better price? Interesting....

I guess, some things in life are more important than money. :)

Interesting posts here.

Maybe all shops should stop all fondling and testing of equipment?

Maybe factories should stop testing their virgin shutters?

Maybe all cars should have zero milage when delivered?

I'm a film camera user, all new equipment doesn't come with shutter counts, be it a $2k Nikon or $6k Leica or a $150 point and shoot. Had these been fondled by others? Definitely yes. Had the shutter been released many times? Yes too. Is it new? Certainly! They were not out of the shop, abused, knocked, carried around in bags etc.

My new bike has 10km on it. That was used by the shop technicians to test all functions before handing over. I don't consider that as used.

How about lenses? Flashes? Tripods? Filters? Bags?

Virgin equipment? Not possible unless you made them yourself. Someone would have "used" it along the way.

Maybe the present digital camera culture has resulted this obsession with shutter count. But some common sense should be exercised.

By the way, I had 30 year old cameras I bought used that has less problem than those I bought new in box.

The camera with the 100 shutter count could be better than the other sample with zero shutter count. Who knows?

Hi Chua, some points agreed with you. I like this camera. In fact i mind 108 sc, but not too extreme. Still within my tolerance. This post might be able to help beginner to know more regarding how new the equipment are selling to us.

After reply from the post only i realise the 'store' J3:16 refer to might not be exist. If no stock then say no stock, dont tell ppl go to 'store' to take the camera.

From the inputs, i follow majority 108sc is consider aceptable. Hee. I think its interesting also if i can send email to Nikon Singapore to clarify this sc issue.
