pls suggest for improvements..thnx!

#2 bottom right overexposed spoils the photo.
#3 is slightly tilted take note of that next time.

#1 looks decent...the exposure and stuff

but for #2 take note of stuff like the edges of the building at the top left being cut off (some people are particular about stuff like this)...maybe try going wider next time
and yes the bottom right is quite over-exposed probably try using a black card or something to block it during the exposure timing

#3 common problem: the horizon isn't straight but that can be corrected through photoshop or lightroom and you can also try to go wider to include the reflections of the water
i would also stop down a bit more as i find it a bit too bright (personal preference)

don't worry i'm learning too :)
jiayou!

thnx for the comments, i take note of that .. actually im using 18-55mm i dnt have any lens.. can i ask something guys? what's the cheapest wider lens? i'm planning to buy a 75-300mm telephoto do uu think its good?

Hey bro, i like your pictures. May i know what setting you use? I'm a newbie & not sure how to take a night shots? & why do my picture appear to be pitch dark when i take picture at night.
Sorry for too much question ask, i'm still learning :dunno:

hi just happen to drop by again

a 75-300 will come in handy if u need the reach
but if you are VERY into landscape...
a wide angle lens (non full frame) for canon would be the 10-22mm
heard its a very decent lens but i use nikon so cant be that sure

i assume you are on manual mode? ;p
for night shots the shutter speed is usually very long lets say 10-20 seconds (depending on situations)
if you just starting use the P mode of your camera and you'll figure out the settings chosen by the camera
and do remember to bring a tripod or else even if you get pitch dark photos you'll get blur ones :bsmilie:

hope you come back and check this ;)

there is nothing wrong about #3, the casino provided for a counter balance to the "tilted" horizon (as they say) thus giving the pic a distinctive touch.

Good try!
Composition: #3 is nice (well done!). #1 and #2 are kinda 'noisy' (too many things vieing for attention; no main point of interest).
Exposure: #3 is dead on (well done). #1 and #2 are a challenge. #1 lacks contrast (impact). #2 would have been better without the 'Singtel bit and all the over-exposed bright lights'. Try cropping to only the Oriental Mandarin and the Singapore Flyer and leave the rest out.
Sharpness: looks great to me.

Keep trying and learning.

This shot would be nicer with a really wide-angle lens, which unfortunately you don't have. hehehe.

I'm kinda surprised that you couldn't go wider with this shot. Not long ago I was there with a bunch of Newbies, and I distinctly remember them getting wider views than this, even with the 18-xx kit lenses.
But the floodlit area is REALLY overexposed. Go back again in a few weeks, when the lights have been dismantled. Nice spot to shoot with the car trails.

There is noticeable horizon tilt in this one. Not advisable to tilt the horizon in a landscape photo, unless for specific artistic intent.
Also the lotus-thingy is overexposed. Would benefit from use of black-card technique, or else bracketed exposures and then merging in post-processing.

over-exposed for no 2 on right side, no 3 on left side.....my 2cents
