...A CF card is a CF card is a CF card....
Sorry but blu think this is not true. Back when blu was still using the 8080, blu bought a 80X 1GB CF. Paid an arm and a foot for it, to find that it did not work with the cam. Had the card changed 3 times and finally send the card and cam to oly. 2 weeks later, even after the firmware was updated, the Cam and card still would not work together. Blu had to return the card for a lower speed one :( So not all CF cards are the same.

Blu bought a xD made by Apacer for the 8080. Somehow after 1 use, the camera just would not recognizes the card. It works fine on the Fujifilm's Q1 and on a card reader but the 8080 just says no card. Sent both back to oly, again same thing. Finally had to return the card for a warranty claim.

It was the same with the SD card, to date, blu still have 1 SD of 512mb which the x-Drive would not read. It works fine with the camera but just won't read on the storage unit.

So not all cards are the same.

Ah yes apologies on that one, I stand corrected.

The higher speed / higher capacity CF cards do have compatibility problems with older gear.

I believe SD cards are the same.

That is my understanding also. I think it is even stated in the Oly manual somewhere. When They made E-500 Sundisk Extreme III was the fastest, now there is an Extreme IV which is even faster but may not work in my camera.

Another thing, CF card is actually the same as an IDE harddisk (same inteface). That means also that if you'd use a 250GB hard disk and you'd only have Windows 95 I think you would be in trouble. Using a CF with higher capacity than the camera is specified for may result in card error or it is not recognized with the full size but severely limited, if it is working at all.
