hi, tomcat, may i know how long it took for the adapter to arrive after you have placed your order?
I have ordered mine. Now already the 10th day liao, still haven't received the adapter ring. ;( Bernie emailed me that he sent it to me through air mail. I wonder why so long........and who wants the adapter ring?
How was it being packed? a parcel or just an ordinary envelope? I think it lost in the half way already........;( ;(

007:
Air mail from Canada can take 1-2 weeks to reach us. Bernie does not immediately send out the adapter ring the same day he received the order so start counting the days only from the date of his email to you saying that he has sent out the order. The adapter ring is sent in a padded envelope as it is a very small item. It is not likely to be lost in the mail as I have yet to lose any items I ordered from Canada or the States. Just wait a few more days, I'm sure that you will receive it by then.

Thank you very much!
I am a bit worried about it might lost half way. Anyway, thanks for your reply!

Hi, anyone knows how much does a 52mm Nikon lens cap cost? Thanks.:)

Most shops do not carry the 1st party lens cap. Try to find the third party one. Serves the same purpose but the price is very cheap. Furthermore, lens cap is a small accessory, you might lost it anytime. Got mine 46mm for $2 in Alan Photo. (Alex Photo quote me $6 for the same 46mm lens cap!!! so be careful when you buy!)

I bought one at CP for $10. Original Nikon 52mm Lens Cap. Can be used on UR-E8

Bernie just came out wif new filter adaptor for Nikon CP5700. This is how it will look like on the CP5700

No vignetting at widest angle. Only problem is 72mm filters are quite ex.

For those who are interested in getting, check out NextPhoto

*Note, I am in no relation with Bernie's site. This post is purely for information purposes.

Thanks to you guys for the info. Greatly appreciated. :gbounce:

please note that the link you gave does not show the filter that made by bernie. Try to read the thread carefully. It is a 52mm to 72mm step up ring bought in Korea by a Korean!

hi 007, thks for pointing that out. I know abt it, the reason why i posted the Korean-made thread is because the picture is still not available at Bernie's site, thus I made my own assumption that they are going to be the same. (cos Bernie mentioned that it's a UR-E8 to 72mm adaptor which fits the description for the korean-made)

My sincere apologies if I've posted based on my own assumption and causes confusion to others who have read it.

Tomcat, thanks. Just received mine this afternoon. It has been 13 days. whew..........

Viewfinder, I did not have any bad intention when I replied. Just to avoid confusion. Hope you don't mind.

My adapter ring is similar to the 52 mm one but in 46mm. It fit the 5700 well. One thing to note at:
a) please zoom in to the full zoom. Then, by holding the barrel of the zooming part, attach the ring. At first I tried to attach the ring by forcing it without turning the power off and quite difficult to do it. It took me sometimes to figure how to fit it on. Finally i made it! :rbounce:

well, too bad that i was the last few who ordered the old ring from bernie. The quality a bit low. Not any wordings by the side and the surface of the adapter a bit not well polished. :(
Anyway, it is just a ring, as long as it serves its purpose, that's fine with me! :p

Next accessory ---> lens hood!:gbounce:

007:
Congrats. Hope the wait was well worth it.

Hey 007,

Have you tried stacking a UV and a Cir Polariser with your 49mm filter adapter? Does it cause vignetting?

Thanks.:)

it's 46 mm one. Not 49mm one! Be careful. 46 mm can be used with the variable adaptor the 49 mm one cannot. 52 mm one even worse. Sorry, cannot answer you because I have the ONLY one filter , paiseh......(UV one):dunno: $$$ haha........
But from what I have read, no stacking for the 46mm one. 52mm one, yes. But not for the 46 mm one, will cause vignetting. ;)

really sorry. Until today then I settle my battery problem and get a decent Circular Polarizer. Here is the photo specially dedicated to Mocha;)
by the way, I notice that in the wide angle will cause a very bad vignetting (not suitable for stacking!). So, unless you want to use the wide angle of the camera, if not, it is still okay.
2ndly, you can always crop the images you want.
Change the filter, just within seconds. ;)
