I think cannot be the batt prob...2700 is just the capacity, not the power....the voltage is still 1.5VDC and current is fed upon demand from the cam, so the power is determined by the cam, not the batt...anyway, the cam should have a protection circuit mah. If not, Canon can close door liao.

BTW, you can claim one set each from Canon, GP and Harvey Norman.....no harm trying;p :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Voltage is 1.2V for Ni-MH...;p ;p

how come TS never ask for photographers for the funeral...do you need any photographers for the birth of your new baby??

Which part died first? The heart (power- battery), brain (sensor) or other organs.

Couldn't they do an organ transplant? Actually may not be advisable. Such transplants usually don't lasts as well especially if organ parts come from C**** or I*****. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Your guys are so funny :D too sick of camera term hur?:bsmilie:

Doctor never tell me clearly over the phone. I told them not to transplant if anything go wrong, just let it die peacefully. And I requested for a new born baby. ;p

If you are free, welcome to my new born baby's party next week at Harbourfront Canon General Hospital! :bsmilie:

Oh yah, slip my mind, re-chargeable, 1.2VDC nia. Then the more it shouldn't be the reason...

Why just the 350D?

If want to play big, go all the way. Ask for a 1DsMkII as replacement. ;)

Serious ??? Can you inform us ASAP once u know what cuz the death of ur beloved S3 ?

Mine only 1 week +

Wah... mebbe was a close shave for me. I also got the GP2700mAH. But cos I had this problem of them being a bit fat and difficult to remove from the batt compartment in the S3, I have not really been using them and now using PowerEX2700mAH. So far so good. Do ask Canon what they diagnose to be the cause of death so that we can all be warned. Ask them to watch CSI... got a lot of ideas how to investigate cause of death.

I also curious about cause of death....yours made in jap set or made in china set?

You mean your Nimh battery expanded?
Where did you purchase your GP 2700?

Cause of bloated batteries:
1.) Exposed to high temperature
2.) Over charged
3.) Long time never used
4.) Suffer from drops or knocks
5.) Over used

No scientific theory one..just my guess..

A battery, under any circumstances, shld never bloat whilst in use.

If it bloats, its a clear sign that either ur battery die or ur electronic device die.
不是你死,就是我亡.

So which one costs less, dump which one.... Unless u want to both die, den continue using and u can dump both... :o

My GP2700mah were from Harvey Norman at Centrept. Was on offer. Something like buy one get one free. After initial charge, already found it a slightly tight fit for the S3 batt compartment. Not sure if it was like that before charge. Anyway... even though it's a waste of the batt cost, will not use it on my S3 liao. I had a hard time digging/shaking them out and was worried about my cam. THat's why I invested in 2 sets of powerex. Come to think of it... mebbe it was out of spec or something.. that's why on offer.:dunno:

I've received a call from Canon regarding the diagnosis so far and was told that there is problem with the cam and the batteries as well. The technician actually recommends Sanyo and another brand which I cannot recall what is that.

I've wrote a letter to GP, and the sales manager demands for more details. I'd request for a technical service report from the Canon when collecting my new S3 next week. Any further actions going to be taken on GP will decide then.

Don't worry guys, will update you with latest news.
