My candid world... lets see yours

This set was taken in the Vatican Museum. Although not a catholic, I found the place to be really impressive. A treasure trove of religious artifacts and artworks. If I am a catholic I would be in cloud 9 just being there.

For this set, I would have preferred a slower shutter to blurr out the walking people but my hands were not steady enuff to keep the stairway sharp. So this were the results taken with a Sigma 10-20mm

Kids are always my favourite subjects. I find that one of the biggest challenge shooting candids of kids is trying to get the distance right. Close enough to get a bit of interaction for a good shot but not too close that you willl scare them or make their parents panic.
I often thought about a shot like this but never had the opportunity to shoot it. On this trip I got lucky.

Hi, Thanks for sharing them. I know there is still a big following for film photography, while i like the nostalgic feel of it, I just can't imagine myself going back with all the convenience that digital now provide.

Burano a small colourful town. Walking around, I chanced upon this quotation by an artist painted onto the wall of one of the many beautifully painted houses. You can see my silhouette and the reflection of a few colourful buildings if you look into the tiles. Sigma 10-20 again.

Taken at botanical gardens during a walk. Saw this little girl in a world of her own, ice cream dripping down her hand determined not to let her ice cream melt and drip away.

Global warming..its so troublesome :angry:, taken with the 70-300VR + monopod

Taken during an evening walk after the drizzle. The place would otherwise be packed with tourists and locals people watching.

I kind of like this picture, it's telling alot of thing happening in it, quite a few things to see.

Some may think too many distractions, but I find interesting with multiple subjects.

My observations:

1st, attention drawn to the artist
2nd, then to person being drawn
3rd, the portraits on the ezel
4th, the guy looking at the camera
5th, couple hugging
6th, the other couple
7th, the missing artist (probably went for toilet break)
Last, the buildings in the background.

absolutely very nice candid series!! street and candid photos shot with films still leave a very strong impression imho... they look more lively...

This set was taken in mongolia some years back and some of you might remember seeing it in the travel/landscape forum. On the way to gobi desert we chance upon this little girl helping her granny with a heavy load of firewood. It left a very lasting impression in me how strong this mongolian little kid and her granny was compared to us and our kids back home. All taken with the AFD18-135mm which was my fav walkabout lens for a while.

Dolby, Thanks for your thoughts and comments. This photo was suppose to have a public place, touristy feel to it so your thoughts and mine are in sync. I would have loved the sky to be a bit more interesting tho but as photographers we just make the best out of whatever is available.
