Thanks! I'll start with this setting and play around with the shutter speed/ISO then.
Advise you to use spot metering in concert..

part of the performer's mouth shown is acceptable. To avoid affecting the performer's figure?
Will keep that in mind. Thanks for being so helpful.
Hi Geo,
Great photos of LeeHom!
Wanna ask, if you're standing very close to the stage? Saw that you used IS0 500 and yet it's minimal noise. Nice.
with such a high-end camera, shooting at iso 500 or higher is not a problem n u should not be able to see any noise at such small size pic unless its a crop image. btw even an 'old' 40D can produce min noise level at iso 1250..most of mine shot are taken at iso 1250 using 40D and has been printed using inkjet to A1 size and yet u still can't see much noise. This is no joke, as some CSer has seen most of displayed concert photo,
Hi geotay,
jus curious...y u dun use f2.8?

hehe, ic... cos' I am sitted at the $138 seat (hmm, not very near to stage), used canon 400d, ISO1600, Sigma 18-200mm OS, without flash... crop the pics, and it looks grainy and not very sharp...
Thanks btw![]()
They allow you to bring a dslr into the concert?
haha, I placed it in a normal bag (not camera bag), so I guess they wouldn't check mine...
difference angle and difference task i should say. if shooting from audience's seat with ISO 1250 to shoot a darker background should be no problem. but i don't like concert photo with dark background. cause they don't look like singing but talking. people throw in big money and hard works setting up the stage and lighting, i'll try to show them and make my concerts pictures colorful.with such a high-end camera, shooting at iso 500 or higher is not a problem n u should not be able to see any noise at such small size pic unless its a crop image. btw even an 'old' 40D can produce min noise level at iso 1250..most of mine shot are taken at iso 1250 using 40D and has been printed using inkjet to A1 size and yet u still can't see much noise.
