nice shots !!
the clouds are really dramatic.
i'm tempted to go there now, the airticket to Sabah is pretty cheap nowadays.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW NICE SERIES!!!!!!!

can share with us the lenses/settings u used to get those shots?

u make me feel like climbing all the way up to there now! ><

I used Canon 350D (my antique) with 17-85mm lense to take those pictures. F8.0 and ISO100. Use the white balance of "cloudy" to enhance the colour temperature. I have to say, post-processing (not fabrication) contributes a lot to the final effect.

The website of kinabalu national park lists all details.

Climbing itself is not very tough. The most difficult part is to get residence booking. The reservation is compulsory. Due to the extreme popularity, booking is supposed to be done a few months in advance. We were initially on the waiting list and very lucky that someone before us canceled their room reservation.

Wow 5 is great! luv the clouds...

It was my first climbing experience. So I chose a relatively easier route though Timpohon. I do wanna try the alternative next time.

I did shot some pics on the way but they are just for fun. No point to show. :)

Wow! Your pics of Mt. K are stunning!

The only thing is I find your no.3 strange. I think mountain right smack in the middle of the pic should be moved to the side of the frame. ;)

All pics were taken on the summit (4095m) at the time of sunrise.

love the color shots, well done!

Can I ask, did you use tripod?
I'm thinking whether to bring tripod or monopod up.
We will have porter though.

Also, thinking whether to get a CPL for this or not.
I assume no filters used for your pics?

I did not carry my tripod. I feel quite lucky that I still got clear focus probably due to the IS function. Frankly speaking, if you don't consider it as a burden, bring your tripod instead of monopod. It is quite windy and cold on the top. Monopod may not be very helpful in this situation.

In response to your 2nd question, I did not use CPL. Usually I will try to achieve desired effect during post-processing.
