Im also a canon user,with some collection of canon len.But recently saw the newspaper the alpha 700 with the sample photos.I belived sony is not just making dslr for fun,it for real professional.I think sony is going to dominate the dslr market at least 30% soon.

i tell u what is " history in the making " - it will be like bringing a A700 for a inflight photoshoot onboard the A380 during first commercial flight, print out the photos onboard and autographed by the Chief Pilot and various plane crew ,published in various mags; the first Sony A700 to be onboard A380 ! :thumbsup:

sorry bro, i a simple man, nowaday more into landscape and still life, i dun need a faster and pro camera such as the like of canon. as per our resident financial guru mentioned unteem time...time is hard, if my current lens allow me to take decent landscape and still life shots...i ask myself is there a need to change? what is the roi?:embrass:

wah.. u mentioned abt me arr ? :think: yes.. times will be challenging. Better do well in you jobs and explore ways to generate extra incomes, inflation will be a big problem soon.

Curious how do you set your wb. Must learn from sifu. Me either use AWB or 5600K. :embrass:

with custom wb....sony had improve the custom wb so much that now without the need for any reference for white or grey surface...i can easily set a perfect wb anytime anywhere.....

heh, thanks for all the feedback and different POV. I started of using Sony DSC-S75 back in 2000, then moved on to F717 before going to canon. I like Sony. I remember once wondering if sony will ever make a dslr. Now it has become a reality.. but i have much canon stuff to think about giving up if i want to move to alpha.

You guys meeting up anytime soon? Maybe the best way is to see see look look ;p

set yr wb to custom and point it to the direction of the subject u be taking pic of,usually a wb error msg will appear on the lcd screen with reading of the k temperature and colour filter setting, use the reading and tune accordlingly to it at the k wb setting and u be amazed how accurate it is. it can be used anywhere where there no white to take wb ref for ...it the same technique which i use for my panny fz1

hi gremlin, if there no urgent , would advise to stick with the canon gear u have lot of very nice pics in yr gallery(especially miss beautiful legs 2003;p), as the old adage goes, it the man that behind the camera. Honestly canon is more than enough to meet yr requirement with so many choices particularly on lenses and bodies.

derrick and ctrl-cf...hold on for a while i uploading some pics will show u the main reason why still stick with the km/sony system despite canon having certain advantage over us
below is the sample of some pics taken sometime ago with alpha 700 with tamron 17-50mm f2.8 with iso setting 640-800, aperture f2.8 for individual shot and f8 for group shot at 1/20-1/15 sec handhold.

go eat in temples... just help out with the cleaning and chairs.

on some fridays (think fornightly) Novena Church got free dinner... they welcome all.

who knows.. u end up be hired for shoot assignments in their religious events.

try to shoot malay weddings ! go early becos u will be asked to eat first !
