Most current NEX lenses are not good enough for the NEX-7! SEASON 2!

Getting the adapter is not a problem. Lots of them in ebay. The main issue is the focussing via the adapter. Not as smooth as a manual lens, which kinda spoils the focussing feel. However, the IQ is great and it's the sharpest 90mm I've tried so far. If only someone quickly release an adapter to AF with the Contax G lenses, it would be great. Bang for buck CZ lenses with AF!!

yeah this is one reason I stay away from Contax lenses the focusing is via adaptor and I heard it's not easy. I know Bro tntrue has this lens before but after getting the Leica I think he posted it in BnS

Getting it is not the problem. Having too many different kind of adapters is, for me... That is why I am considering to buy the CY to X mount adapter and use my existing Contax Zeiss Planar 50/1.7 for my portrait shots or just buy an M mount 50s for it. Possibly considering the Zeiss C Sonnar 50/1.5 if I am sticking to M mount. Any advise or review on this lens? Heard it is rated to give one of the best creamy Bokehs and also quite sharp on the subject? Tks.

He has a big budget to play wif, we dun... LOL... ;p

Yup that's why I stick to only M & LTM lenses so dont need different kinds of adapters. Im using the ZM C Sonnar for portraits, you can test it for yourself and judge. You didnt test it the other day?

The only reason I dumped this lens was because I got the 100mm APO. But, yeah, focusing was gritty. That's the lens I'm shooting in my avatar pic, and that's why I have my left hand over the lens rather than under it, because the focus ring on the adapter was smoother to turn that way.

The lens itself is superb . . . a tiny bit soft and good for portraits at f/2.8, and sharp enough to capture a gnat on a squirrel's whisker by f/5.6.

Great early 1990's vintage below, as I mentioned earlier. Dunno when the lens was made, though! ;)

Jeremy1, i saw your signature here.. mine show some 55-210 picture :D? O_____O" talking about young.. i'm just 1st year working here...(don't count those previous part time) This my first full time job. So it's quite for a new comer to fund a legacy lens...

Yeah, this lens is good when the lighting is ok but low light........................:(

i guess that i'm the youngest here. i'm 18 turning 19 in a few months

:bsmilie:

seriously???

Bro, my Wifey taught me that females below 16 years old will usually add 4 - 8 years to their actual age, and those 26 moving onto 30 will subtract 4 - 8 years from their actual age.
Any man who knows the women's actual age is walking on a tightrope and woe begrets him should he unwittingly reveals her true age !!!

when it comes to age I'm not the youngest maybe one of the oldest in Sony lolz.... right bro Ghosfit?? :P

in terms of photographic skills I am still learning as well I think I'm more into lens testing than homing my photographic skills lolz... Bro Velector and I are almost the same he fiddle with camera and lenses opening them up etc etc I am more into trying out lenses hehe... And sad part i dont earn from this hobby of mine this is just for me to let some steam out after a busy week at work or after a every projects.... I dont smoke, drink nor gamble this is my only vice :-) so my wife is slightly tolerating me.

LOL, we are all middle age lah ! ...Sometimes, we should be thankful we are not making a living out of photography because then, all the fun will goes out of it ! and if we don't have the persistance to stay the course, our passion will be the next thing to go.

Yup, I believe Bro Velectron is having as much fun as anybody shooting photos when he strips down a camera or lense, I know people who are obsessed with engines, stripping them down to crankshaft level, cleaning, modifying and tweeking them to perfection. They may not be the ones driving that machine but just hearing it purrs perfectly is their reward.
