ain't the back ground or where u are shooting important also? i don't think u can use LR to remove all the reflection but more like you need to play with the lightings and positioning.....

maybe you can try with flash? but i'm not sure how you do that on your RF.

RF users don't normally like to use flash, though there are exceptions. But thanks for the ideas.

have u seen this? i'm not sure if u know him since you and him maybe a Pam lovers.. i don't want to comment on the shot composition or is it worth on advert .but qualities are much better. probably because he did it in a controlled environment. and at least the Pam layout is clear and no distracting reflection(maybe not on all the shots)

I agree, he did a better job. It's probably done indoors with even lighting and a huge lightbox or something. I'm still learning and experimenting...

Same here.i also learning...haven got time to dig out my camera and try to shoot my own watches....hope to see more of your shots and Pams

Seiko Marine Master ;p
Nice capture of the reflection

I always like to respond to people who are constructive. :bsmilie: It could be fringing or could be the coating. Will need to shoot more shots to be able to tell for sure. Thanks for the input.

It looks like AR coating to me, you see some on the bezel coz on the metal it catches the reflection from the crystal too. There are also 'light pollution' from the watch catching reflection from other things in the room too.

Try shooting in a more controlled environment like inside a light tent will help much. :)

Just a friendly dig lah. Alamak, relax lah :bsmilie:

But purple fringe or not, I love the bokeh of the Elmar.

well, if you are seeing a green glare through the lens, then it is likely to be AR coating, did a quick google on this. the camera sensor will capture this as purple though.

can't find much on purple fringing for elmar 65mm, but M9 seems to have loads of CA problems from a quick google.. with various lenses, that is.

well yes, the bokeh is nice. :)

Thanks night86mare, will certainly monitor this. It is true that the M9 is known to have CA issues, will check further if what we see here on the macro pic is one such case. Cheers, and thanks for the input.

Thanks, glad that you know this dark horse of the watch world.

Seiko mechanical watches are well regarded in the Watch world. I love the Grand Seiko series.

Agree, they only decided to market their hi end brand when they launch their spring drive series a few years back. I only have a piece of their entry level quartz series that i can afford. The fit and finish of these can easily match the swiss counterparts.

The double AR coating on this makes the glass invisible

Leica + watch ...M9 + Visoflex + Elmar = CA (priceless) :bsmilie::

Seiko high-end watches should demand a better status. Many people on the street will not believe you if you tell them that your seiko watch cost few thousand dollars.
Enjoy your collection of your fine seiko watches.

Bro my pics can't compare with M9 pics, our bro has not unleash the full potential of the M9. Whereas my fuji pns basically is max out already.:)

My friends think i am crazy spending so much on a seiko but once i put my marinemaster side by side with a rolex sub and let them look at the level of finish of the two. They are amazed by the MM polished hands, "safe like feel" when turning the bezel and overall heft of the watch. It actually is a class up in terms of fine detail finish.

If I got spare money to buy a good diver watch, I would certainly choose MM instead of Submariner. Good choice for you
Hee... I spent too much on camera and find it very hard to maintain another hobby.
I think I go out of topic too much already. Hope the TS don't mind :bsmilie:
