Haha.... tot ambient lighting plus f1.2 can do it.... hehe....

Great pics!

All bros.. thanks for the compliment.

Paiseh, me shamelessly exploit the bokeh & light sucking capability of the 85L this time round.. :embrass:

But I think the ability of the 85L to create such lighting patterns is nothing new lah, hv seen better efforts posted in the web b4.

85mm Bokeh! Nice! :bsmilie:

Embarassed to hear such compliments, actually my flash control skill still quite cmi.. :embrass:

Among those posted here, think only 2 or 3 the exposure is ok, the rest quite a bit under & need quite a bit of level adjustments in pp to rescue.. the full res pics may not look good..

you handled the lighting and controlled your flash very well. the bg bokeh lights were very nice and the subjects were brought out very nicely.

particularly like 1st shot of peggy!!

Never join such a photoshoot before.. how is it? Fun??

Thanks mike! I do add a little bit of saturation in pp..

Very solid colors.... well done...
Thanks!

The lightings patterns are trademarks of large aperture tele lens such as 85f1.2, 85f1.4 & 135f2 etc..

I am using the 85f1.2 prime btw. :)

Thanks Jia Wang. Always like your work with modelinn's shot.

Hope to be able to shoot with u in future! :)

I find it odd that u need our forgiveness for opening your lens aperture wide... Cos' I could find nothing wrong with that from the shots that u posted here... What I see is a photographer in control of his gears to get the best out of the situation... Control of flash is great, imho... Lovely work, I must say

As for the day shots, I am quite dissapointed with my effort..

Anyway, will post a few here:

Yes, also noticed the awkard colours after posting.

Will try to do something abt it later..

BTW, this is the problem I mentioned to you on sunday, can't manage to get the WB right on the spot even using custom WB with Grey card, dont know why.. tot I hv corrected it during processing, but must agree tt they still looked way off.

Note: Colors r off due to me forget to update my color mgmt settings..
Pics adjusted, but probably still a bit off..

Let me guess:think: ...your WB was customized with Grey card during the time of the day (Sun set), such that the grey card was reflecting yellowish colour. Suggestion, try to use AWB or sunny setting. This will probably cure the yellowish. Trust your system for WB judgement, they can do the trick. :)

For post processing, maybe apply a bit of blue in the levels, hope that this will eliminate the effect.

Send my regards to your brother. Cheers! :)

PS: Other suggestions are welcome. :)
